Shirley’s body of work is called the Emperor’s Treasure. The Emperor collected prized gemstones, gold, silver and pearls. As the Emperor had unlimited resources, he commissioned works of jewelry to symbolize his reign. The Twigs of Fortune are symbolic of prized bamboo.
